Biography
Enid Zentelis
Nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival, and winner of Best Director at Sonoma Valley Film Festival, EVERGREEN marked Zentelis' feature film directorial debut. EVERGREEN opened nationwide and received critical acclaim when a first-of-its-kind deal was inked with AMC Theaters. EVERGREEN was selected to participate in the prestigious Sundance Institute Writer's Lab in 2000 and also won Zentelis a 2002 NYFA Grant in screenwriting.
Zentelis recently directed and produced a short film on PRESIDENT CLINTON and THE CLINTON FOUNDATION for Radical Media, as well as directed videos for major record labels on ERIC CLAPTON and WILCO among others. Her short films DOG RACE and MAN WITH MY NOSE, have screened around the world and received the New York Film Festival's Grand Marnier Film Fellowship, and Finalist for Best Short Film at NYU respectively.
Zentelis' original screenplay, GRASPING THE SPARROW'S TAIL, is being produced by Bridget Johnson Films (AS GOOD AS IT GETS, SMART PEOPLE). A cast reading of SPARROW was also directed by Zentelis for New York Stage and Film in 2007. Other screenplays and television series in development include MAKE LOVE NOT WAR, FAUNA AND FLORA and THE EIGHTH COMMANDMENT. Other films credits for digital effects and animation include: ADDAMS FAMILY VALUES, NIXON, THE SHADOW, BOGUS and HERCULES.
Zentelis received a BA from Hampshire College and an MFA from the NYU Graduate Film Program, where she was the W.T.C. Johnson full-scholarship recipient.
She is represented by United Talent Agency.
