Biography
Rick Litvin has worked as a director, editor, writer and producer in the film, television and music industry. He has directed or produced over 150 music videos including Shawn Colvin's Grammy Award Winning Sony Records debut, "Steady On." His original cable television series Cityvision was distributed on Time Warner Cable. His independent film work has been distributed internationally and has screened at the Museum of Modern Art. As a songwriter, he has collaborated as co-author on 6 Lucy Kaplansky albums (The Tide, Flesh and Bone, Ten Year Night, Every Single Day, The Red Thread, Over the Hills). Both Ten Year Night and Every Single Day won the Association of Independent Music's Best Pop Album category in 2000 and 2002. His songwriting work has been featured on National Public Radio (All Things Considered, Weekend Edition, Mountain Stage), the BBC, the CBS Early Show and NBC's Television Series, "Ed." Rick has taught at Bennington College, lectured on video in a variety of seminars across the country and taught Documentary Production in Ireland through Tisch International. He has been the recipient of multiple grants and awards including the Cine Golden Eagle and the Silver Prize at the Houston International Film Festival.
