Rick Litvin has worked as a director, editor, writer and producer in the film, television and music industry. He has directed or produced over 160 music videos including Shawn Colvin's Grammy Award Winning Sony Records debut, "Steady On." His work, as filmmaker and songwriter, has been distributed internationally, screened at The Museum of Modern Art and his original daily cable television series, "Cityvision" was distributed by Time Warner Cable. He recently directed the Kickstarter launch video for The Pine Hill Project which raised over $85,000 in 30 days.

As a songwriter, he has collaborated as co-author on 8 Lucy Kaplansky albums (The Tide, Flesh and Bone, Ten Year Night, Every Single Day, The Red Thread, Over the Hills, Red Horse, Reunion). Both Ten Year Night and Every Single Day won the Association of Independent Music's Best Pop Album category in 2000 & 2002. His songwriting work has been featured on National Public Radio (All Things Considered w/Noah Adams and Melissa Block, Weekend Edition w/Scott Simon and Liane Hansen, Mountain Stage, West Coast Live), Etown, the BBC, the CBS Early Show, NBC's Television Series "Ed," Amos Poe's Empire II and a variety of CD anthologies.

Rick has taught at Bennington College, lectured on video production in a variety of seminars across across the country and taught Making the Documentary in Dublin, Ireland. He has created multiple new courses for Undergraduate Film & Television including the Summer High School Filmmakers Workshop and Short Commercial Forms, has been the recipient of multiple teaching award nominations, grants, commissions, has presented research at conferences and as an invited panelist and recognized with the CINE Golden Eagle and the Silver Prize at the Houston International Film Festival. Rick has been a member of ASCAP since 1994 and UFVA since 2008.
