Biography
Mollie Fermaglich is a comedy writer who has written for television, film, newspapers, magazines, and radio. A Writer's Guild Award and Cable Ace Award nominee, Ms. Fermaglich's children's television credits include: "Clarissa Explains It All", "Welcome Freshmen", "Allegra's Window", "Gullah Gullah Island", "Big Bag", and "Once Upon a Tree". She has written for Nickelodeon, Disney, CBS, Sesame Workshop, Sunbow Productions, Animal Planet, Cartoon Network, and Hallmark Entertainment. Her film credits include scripts for Paramount/Nickelodeon and Catalyst Entertainment.
Ms. Fermaglich's humor articles have appeared in such publications as The New York Times, London Times, Glamour, Cosmopolitan, Mademoiselle, California, My Generation, New York Daily News, Village Voice, More, Penthouse, Woman's Day, King Features Syndicate, and many other magazines and newspapers. She is the author of two books, including Mollie's Rules for the Socially Inept.
Her screenplay, "Heaven Sent" was optioned by Interscope and her screenplay, "It's Only Me," was optioned by Jane Startz Productions and Catalyst Entertainment. She has written comedy pilots for Hallmark Entertainment and Nickelodeon, has served as a judge for both the Emmy Awards and the Writer's Guild of America Awards, and is a lifetime member of the Writer's Guild of America.Mollie has written and produced comedy segments for Bob Saget, William Shatner, George Segal and Jackie Mason. She has appeared as a guest on such television shows as The Phil Donahue Show, Live with Regis and Kathy Lee, The CBS Morning Program, and has been interviewed by the New York Daily News, The New York Post and dozens of national and New York radio stations. Her other screenplays include the romantic comedy, "Libel," "Clarissa Graduates From It All," and "Nicole Zucker: P.I."
