Film & Television Feature Film Awards

The Kanbar Institute of Film & Television in the Tisch School of the Arts at N.Y.U. is pleased to present two opportunities for financial assistance to produce a first feature film.  The Chris Columbus/Richard Vague Film Production Fund and Sloan Foundation Feature Film Award. Eligibility for the Chris Columbus/Richard Vague Production Fund Award is limited to those alumni who graduated within five years of the current award year. Eligibility for the Sloan Foundation Feature Film Award is limited to those alumni who graduated within five years of the award year as well as current thesis students in the Kanbar Graduate Film Program, and current juniors and seniors in Kanbar Undergraduate Film & TV.


The Chris Columbus/Richard Vague Film Production Fund is comprised of two awards of $100,000 and $75,000 given annually to two alumni to direct their first feature films, either narrative or documentary.

The Sloan Foundation Feature Film Production Fund is an award of $100,000 for a feature-length narrative project that portrays intellectually engaging, entertaining images of scientists/engineers or a scientific discovery.
