Biography
As a writer/director Keith Davis’ award-winning short films have screened at dozens of festivals, including Palm Springs International Short Fest, Chicago International, AFI/Dallas International, Method Fest, Ft. Lauderdale International Film Festival, Hollywood Black Film Festival and IFC/Rooftop. As a professional actor he has appeared on Broadway in "Julius Caesar" with Denzel Washington, and in "Festen" opposite Julianna Margulies and Jeremy Sisto. In television he has made guest appearances on “Law & Order,” “Guiding Light,” “Third Watch” and “Law & Order: SVU”. Additionally, Davis has appeared in several feature and short films including The Arrangement, De Dominee and Sidney Lumet's, “Before the Devil Knows You're Dead,” with Ethan Hawke and Philip Seymour Hoffman. As a professional editor, Davis' work has been honored and screened multiple times at The HBO/American Black Film Festival shorts program. Additionally, Davis recently edited three short documentary pieces for acclaimed filmmaker Spike Lee, including a look at Barack Obama and the historical events of Election Day, November 4, 2008. He has also recently been selected to be a Sundance Institute Lab Fellow as a writer/director with his feature film script, “The American People”. Davis is originally from Ozark, Alabama and currently lives in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn.
